Dear Becky and Bill,
I received my puppy (Lucy) from you on Thursday... I was so worried about her flying over 2,500 miles to get here, especially during these harsh Winter months.. But, I was pleasantly surprised!
Having been in business for many years, I realize that being 'good' is fine (and common) but, true success lies in the details.. And, you folks have mastered the details! I was really impressed by Lucy's condition, the way she was packed, and all the extras you included with her; the food, leash, harness, treats, gifts, paper work, etc.
I'm glad I took the time to research kennels and breeders. It gave me the opportunity to separate the wheat from the flack. It's true about the cream rising to the top because 2 Dogs Long kept appearing at the top!
Thank you both for all you do.... Your breeding, care, customer service, and sales are amazing! I will never buy a dog anyplace else! Further, I will recommend you to everyone! That's the highest compliment I can pay you! As you know, if you do one thing wrong, people will tell everybody but, if you do everything right, they might tell one person!
Thank you again! Happy Holidays!

Is this true or what? We'll have to put that on the site!!!
“Never underestimate a dachshund, they’ll bite the Devil on the ass then run off with his cookie.”
Hi Becky...Hope this finds you and all your doxies well. Daisy's birthday is today, 2-26. She is 4! I cannot believe how that time has flown. I know that you have retired our sweet Lazarus, and am assuming the same of little Hope since I no longer see her on the site. I am so thankful for the perfect little love that they created in Daisy. She is absolutely the best and sweetest dog I could have ever asked for. She is a mama's girl...Loves to cuddle and gives kisses! She's a great walker...about a mile and half a day (in the nice weather)...just around the block in the colder/snowy months.
In any case...I just wanted to let you know Daisy is a perfectly healthy and happy girl.
Thanks for your perfection in breeding!

Hi, Becky,
I just wanted to update you on our precious Milo. He is doing better, although he still plays quite roughly with Mia, (our 5 year old miniature dachshund), sometimes biting and hurting her. His newest thing is sucking on her ears. She doesn't try to hump him nearly as much these days. Latte, our 10 year old Australian shepherd, seems to be afraid of Milo. Milo has come out of his shell, and no one would call him shy these days :) He is pretty rambunctious, active, and rough and tumble, but falls asleep on our laps (especially Steve's). He LOVES our waterbed, and tunnels down to the foot of it, or nestles in Stephen's armpit. The potty training has about a 50 percent success rate. He knows his name, come, and sit. Stephen is retired, so he can devote all of his time to Milo. Strangers come up to us and tell us how gorgeous he is. Steve met a woman today who asked for the name of your website, because she just fell in love with him and wanted to get one.
Milo remains pretty skittish with noises, and has recently discovered his own (very loud) bark. We will be taking him to obedience training within the next couple of weeks, and getting him neutered sometime in June. The video of his first visit to the vet (taped by a TV station for a local show called "Eye on the Bay") will be aired sometime next month - if we can find out in advance, we will get someone to record it and send you a copy. He really was the star of the video, although some other dogs had cameos. That dog was born for stardom.
We hope you are well. Thank you so much for our wonderful little guy, who has brought so much joy and laughter (along with a bit of destruction) to our household.
Love,
Anne, Stephen, Latte, Mia and Milo
Becky,
Hello! Sophie will turn one year this month so I was thinking it is time to update you! Sophie has grown up so well! To this date we have only had 3 accidents in the house (luckily they were all on the hardwood floors! She is so smart and caught on to going to the bathroom outside almost since we got her!
She has become the star at all family functions! My mother is the one that absolutely loves dogs and Miss Sophie is no different. I think that besides Connor and I she loves my mom the most ( we call her grandma though!) Sophie has also been a good influence on my parents dog Stonewall, he has learned how interact and be a dog! Stonewall is Sophie's closest doggie friend.
I don't know about you but our Spring (or lack thereof) has been very wet and cold, but Sophie has done great! In the winter she loved to run though the snow, and eat snowballs. After each snowstorm Connor would go out and shovel off the snow so she would have a place to go to the bathroom! Connor is such a good daddy to Sophie! Now that we are starting to have a summer all Sophie wants to do is be outside. For hours we sit out with her while she sniffs EVERYTHING, chases birds, rolls around in the grass, and what we call "lay out".
At the end of January we got her spayed. I took a week off of work so I could be at her side the whole time! She did so good! I think I was more nervous and worried than any mommy could be!
In May Sophie went on her first trip to Arizona! She travelled like and old pro. She absolutely loved Arizona and the sun (especially after our very wet spring). We only managed to have one scary encounter with a snake , but LUCKLY the snake was dead! She really scared me though!
Becky, I just wanted to let you know how much we love Sophie, she has become a huge part of not only our little immediate family, but also to Connors extended family and my extended family! She is so loving and sweet!
Hope all is well up in Montana! Thank you again! I am going to send some photos and a movie of Sophie so you can see how beautiful she is!
Cheryl
Good Morning,
I wanted to compliment you on your display of daschund for sale and their parents. Your entire site is refreshing to view and your puppies are adorable. I do order from you and will again. I have 2 daschund, both males and neutered. A father and son that are 2 years and 8 months. Daschund are very special dogs. I’ve had dogs all my life, I’m 68 now, but until I got these little guys, well, they just have a special way about them and would highly recommend to anyone to purchase one from an established breeder. Have A Great Day!

The Bazz..He is amazing..he is stunning.. i was wrong.. he is under 12 pounds..all confirmation points are on target... except for the set of his ears (that probably kept him out of the show ring).
He is spectacular... This is the smartest and most well rounded dog that I have ever met.. He has a bay( tha booowooooooo howl I am so charmed by )_and, like a hound/pointer , he holds his left paw up when wanting his beloved ball or a squirrel or bird. The tortoise that he sleeps with and shares lettuce and carrots with is his pal. He has breathed new life into the ole general ( he has 10 yr old Rudee running and playing).
Given that Rudee had been paralyzed 4 years go..to see him run and play makes my heart smile.
My 14 yo che wa wa, ole man Pablo, has made it his mission to attend, play with and clean sir Baz.
Bazzle has an unparalleled athleticism. He plays ball like a rock star...actually like a soccer player. The funniest thing is that he barks with his ball in his mouth...like a ventriloquist!... He does guard his food, as you warned. He and my alpha Rud-ee have to be separated at meals...I am amazed at Bazzle's smarts, charm, reasonable caution ( he doesn't willy-nilly go to just anyone), his independence and that good ole doxie " i am not listening" charm that makes a doxie.... that amusing dog that excels at pleasing him/her self...
I will have him for a very very long time... he is my little man.
thank you so much..for attending to all of the qualities that have been bred/ filtered into his gene pool. He doesn't have one problem or undesirable trait... This is a super dog & I am amazed every day.
Love the little fella more every day... he is sacked out in bed with his ball, now.. He has his racquet balls stashed all over the house and yard...
Go figure

Roxy is still doing well...she adjusted beautifully. Heidi is staying true to her submissive personality :) Roxy slept through the past two nights on the bed with us next to Heidi - as long as she is not in her playful biting mood Heidi doesn't mind her around. Thank you again - I would never think to use any other breeder than you. I will keep you posted with how Roxy is doing.
I ALWAYS APPERICATE YOUR MAIL, BUT MOST OF ALL I ENJOY YOUR WEBSITE LOVE THE PICTURES AND ALL THE INFO...THANKS ANOTHER DOXIE LOVER ...JIM

Basil wrath bone..Basil (aka midnight express). The list continues. I think that I can see him growing. This, is without a doubt the most well adjusted puppy I have ever seen. He now has Rud-ee and has Rudy's sister Tattoo to play with. Tattoo's owner is about 58 and has doxies all of her life. She is so impressed with his looks and confidence, if she did not have her heart set on a wirehair - I think she would get a black/tan too.
Basil is busy getting to know everything, because we spend so much time outside. Ravens, the birds in the bird feeders flowers, butterfly and bugs, you name it!
Since we are about 2 miles from the ocean, he was very concerned with the fog horns and the cruise ship horns. Then the hawks and airplanes, along with the sirens from fire trucks...so many new things.
Puppy proof-right! HA...of course you were correct. He is into everything and no matter what you buy...it doesn't matter...sticks are the best. Also... your forgot to tell me that he inherited a professional beggar gene! Basil is at the front of the line when stuff is on the stove. He sits and cocks his head back and forth and is at the front of the snack line too.
He is doing really well with the potty thing. If we are in bed-he just gets a certain look and I know we have to go out.
Since we make such a "good boy"fuss when he potties outside, he is loving the attention, plus he just caravans with the other dogs.
Now for the big news...after a few tenuous moments...it is official...he has charmed Ru-dee and chews the old man's collar, ears and anything else he is able to get away with. Payback time is here...
I am sure that Basil will add years to Ru-dee...I could not have received a more perfect dog..
Thanks again for such a wonderful gift..Basil is the best...
PS: This morning he went on his first walk...the harness is perfect.

Hi Becky!
Lee just returned from taking Fritz to the vet. It is a new woman that we haven't seen before, so don't know her. She loved Fritz, and told Lee that he is the total exception to the rule of what they typically see - a well bred dog with an excellent temperment who is healthy and looks just as he should. She says they see lots of dogs from puppy mills and backyard breeders and you can really tell the difference between those dogs and one from a reputable breeder. So there you have it - what we've always known! Anyway, she confirmed he's in good health and adorable!
Peanut is doing great, and everyone says what an awesome and friendly dog he is, especially for a Dachshund everyone says.
We took him on our 3 month trip around the US, and man, did he ever meet a bunch of people. Thanks for such a wonderful dog, we love him to death!

I could go on and on and on about how much I am enjoying Murphy and what a difference he's made. When I look down at those eyes peaking out of his hug-a-dog bag I can't beleive he is MINE! I'm so lucky! Can't begin to thank-you enough! Really, really, really! It is SO wonderful to have him and it's great to know you are always there to answer any questions I might have.
I have a social worker at work who tells me never to forget that I make a difference in people's lives. She is always telling me to remember that even on those more challenging days. I want you to do the same - remember how happy you've made my family and know that you make a difference!!!!!!!!

Everytime I look at this adoring pup, I think of how grateful I am to have you in my life. Just how much the heavens did shine upon me the day I found you way up there in Montana. I am very fortunate indeed and wanted you to know how much you are treasured. With love, D.L. and the Girls xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If you are considering a dachshund from 2 Dogs Long, you cannot do any better. I have 2 dachshunds from Becky, they are sisters and 2.5 years old; my daughter purchased an adult dog from Becky as well.
Having had 2 previous doxies before finding Becky, I can tell you that the early socialization she gives them in addition to their excellent breeding really makes a difference. Our vet has expressed numerous times how well bred and healthy our dogs are.
Becky is available for questions you may have after the sale and is interested in how the puppies are doing in their new home. Becky's careful screening process ensures quality homes for her "kids."
Whether you will be a new doxie owner or have had one before, there is absolutely nothing like the love of a doxie.
When my work schedule permits, I will likely get one or two more dogs from Becky, and my daughter will as well. You cannot do better than Becky Burguess.

I have a black and tan long haired Dachshund that I purchased from Becky some five years ago. I would purchase twenty if I was permitted. The female that I have is not only beautiful - actually magnificent, but she is beyond intelligent and the finest Dachshund I have ever owned. I would recommend Becky completely for breeding beautiful, intelligent, healthy and adoring Dachshunds. Additionally, Becky is always there to listen, give advice and to help if need be throughout the dogs life . The dog is the love of my life and I thank Becky every day for the gift I have. I trust Becky completely and find her delightful.

I'm always happy to tell everyone who is considering a dachshund to buy it from 2 Dogs Long Dachshunds. I have 2 dogs from there and they are so beautiful and entertaining. My dogs have the best personality and are so sweet. They love to sit on my lap. I was lucky enough to visit the kennel and see first hand the care and love they get from the very beginning. Heated floors, clean kennels, fresh water, good quality food, music, toys, sunshine. It was an uplifting experience for me that, to this day I still reflect upon. If you're considering buying a pup from Becky you won't be dissappointed, she has the highest expectations for her dogs. You can call her anytime with questions.

I purchased a baby Dachshund from Becky in August of 2007. His name is Duke and he just celebrated his one year birthday and I couldn't be happier with him! He is a beautiful looking dog, and a great companion. Anytime II have a question, I just pick up the phone and Becky is always there for me. Once you buy a dog from her you are forever part of the family! I will attach a picture of my Dog Duke. One thing I really notice is that her weiner dogs have the most beautiful heads. Everyone notices how glorious their snout and ears are!

I personally have 3 dogs from 2 Dogs Long Dachshunds, one of my employees has 3, and another employee has 1. My nephew has 2.
Becky is the only breeder we recommend for SHs and LHs to our customers when
they inquire. I have been to her kennel and can attest to the cleanliness
and how the dogs are handled. She breeds for health, temperament and
conformation. She also does not sell to just anyone. She is particular
about where her dogs are placed.
If you are considering a puppy (or a retired adult), I highly recommend 2 Dogs Long Dachshunds.

We just recently purchased our first dachshund puppy from 2 Dogs Long, but I have been reviewing the website regularly for probably 3 years. We are extremely pleased with the professional and committed dedication that is given to the care and well-being of these dogs. The puppy we have arrived at our house healthy, very socialized and has a well-rounded disposition. He is a great companion and loves people and also gets along well with the other dog we have. Our puppy was provided supplies and other items from 2 Dogs Long to make his transition to a new home as easy as possible. If you are looking for a pet that will bond with you and pretty much melt your heart, you will find such a pet at 2 Dogs Long. My experience dealing with Becky at 2 Dogs Long has been positive and she is very dedicated to the dogs she breeds as well as the puppies in regards to their care in their future homes. We are very pleased with the dealings we have had with 2 Dogs Long.

I first met Becky through April at Dachshund Delights, where I buy all of my harnesses. 4 years ago Riley, a long haired chocolate joined my family. He is the delight of my life and Becky and I stay in touch and laugh about his antics.
He is a great looking dog, with a great disposition. I wanted another of Becky's dogs - because health wise and personality wise, they are cute as can be. In May of this year, Baby Beau joined my family from 2 Dogs Long. He is a red piebald and quite the entertainer.
Becky is the only breeder I will deal with and I recommend her highly. She cares about her dogs. I was involved in a rescue for her a couple of years ago. One of her adopters had to go into a nursing home. The woman lived in Maryland, and Becky was out of town. Becky requires that if we ever cannot take care of our dogs, we will call her. Becky advised the woman that she would take the dog back and find a good home for her (ever heard of a breeder who does that?). Becky called us and I went to get the dog to foster until Becky came back into town. Well...I fell in love with Lily and she now resides with my parents in NC - a match made in heaven!
Becky provides information, advice, counseling and ongoing support as needed. She loves to hear stories and cares about all of her dogs. I cannot imagine a better person to adopt from!
